GE Deploys Hybrid Power Plant while in Berlin

GE has used a hybrid power plant at its Pressure Conversion production site in Koeln, Germany. The plant enables primary capability savings of around 30 percent rather than systems that generate heat & power separately through conventional heater and external electricity procurement.

The hybrid power plant was developed from Kofler Energies and GE's setting up office BLS Energieplan and unites Belectric solar PV with a Jenbacher used in combination heat and power (CHP) engine and an energy storage battery.
The Jenbacher J312 gas engine features mentioned heat storage and has an efficiency volume of 89. 2 percent. The four hundred kW system covers the basic raise the temperature of load of the site during the heater season and is fueled by propane.
